Personal Responsibility & Safety
We are committed to supporting programs that provide high school students with the tools necessary to safely and successfully navigate their first year of college or any other endeavor after high school. At some point, we will begin to fine-tune programs and partnerships that will help us fulfill our mission and financially support those initiatives.
On Friday, December 7th, motivational speaker A'ric Jackson presented to the St. Cloud Tech High School and St. Cloud Apollo High School students. For the last decade, A'ric Jackson's mission has been to teach, inspire, encourage, and help others pursue their goals and dreams.
The Tom Bearson Foundation will be providing a grant of up to $2,000 for each of five area high schools in the 2018 - 2019 school year ($10,000 total.) These funds will provide for professional speakers to come to each school and speak on various topics related to personal safety, personal responsibility, and the realities of growing up.
On Thursday, March 3rd, 2018, Brad Bigler spoke to all 1,200 Sartell High School students. Brad is the Head Coach of the Men's Basketball team at Southwest Minnesota State University, and he has been featured on the popular ESPN show, E:60. Our Foundation provided the $500 to fund this wonderful speech.
The Wisdom Retreat is a reflective day for graduating seniors to gain healthy closure on their high school years by enabling an opportunity to strengthen relationships and be challenged to nurture wise choices for the rest of the school year and beyond. The cost of the Wisdom Retreat is $3,000, and it is paid for entirely by the Tom Bearson Foundation.
