Inaugural Tom Bearson Golf Outing
The Inaugural Tom Bearson Golf Outing was held on Aug 22, 2015.
A special thank you to Blackberry Ridge Golf Course and all of their employees for making this a wonderful venue to host our event.
More than 300 people attended the Tom Bearson Foundation Inaugural Golf Outing and we want to thank each and every one of you while we raised over $23,000 for the foundation!
Next year’s Tom Bearson Foundation Annual Golf Outing is scheduled for Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Blackberry Ridge in Sartell, MN. We have some really great plans already for next year! Mark your calendars now, you won’t want to miss it!
The day began with free lunch for everyone and free Bloody Mary’s for the adults. The driving range was also free and open at 10:30 am.
Prior to the golfing, we had a nice prayer from Father Tim Boltes/St. Francis Xavier Church. We then released more than 75 balloons with personal messages into the sky. Talented musicians Sherri Schmit, Carolyn Yaggie – Heinen, Nancy Drontle, and Susan Schleper sang and played a beautiful song for us. Both Greg and Deb Bearson had some comments and then the fun began!
The weather was mostly cloudy and threatened rain most of the day. When the rain finally came, it poured. Fortunately, most of the groups were able to go back out after the rain and finish their round.
The winners of the golf tournament were: Pat Walsh, Ryan Walsh, Mike Walsh, and Angela Van Binsbergen Walsh. They will have their names engraved into a gold plate and affixed to the trophy which will be displayed at Blackberry Ridge.
There were many winners for various hole contests around the course. Although noboby had a hole-in-one to win the car sponsored by Atwater Ford. For those that were hungry, there were three Hot Dog stations set up on the course. The wieners were donated by Schweigert Meats and Spartan Nash and there were more than 50 silent auction and raffle prizes that included some amazing items.
Our guests had a choice of roast beef or chicken for dinner. Once the winners were announced for all of the raffle and silent auctions items, we were entertained by a DJ from Music on Demand. Many people danced – some were more fun to watch than others!
A Special Thank You
Our Inaugural Golf Outing in memory of Tom Bearson was a huge success! We would like to thank the foundation’s Board of Director’s and 30+ volunteers who worked tirelessly to make it all happen. In addition, the support from our community was so incredible. We had more than 50 sponsors. First and foremost, we want to thank Coborn’s as our main sponsor. Coborn’s is a local company that has set the gold standard for charitable philanthropy and we are incredibly grateful by their support. We would also like to personally thank all of the sponsors listed below for their sponsorship and for all of the poeple and companies that donated the wonderful door prizes and silent auction items.
Look for our Thank You Ad in the St. Cloud Times down the road.
Finally, we are lucky and blessed by the outpouring of support from so many people and we shall always be humbled and grateful.
Many blessings from the Tom Bearson Foundation.
