We would like to say yet another gigantic thank you to everyone who helped with and attended the Hoopin’ in Heaven – Tommy B. Night event. It helps keep us positive and inspired to have so many people consistently contribute to keeping Tom’s memory alive and well – especially when it comes to basketball, which was such a huge part of his life.

 

This year was our largest crowd yet, with over 1,000 people in attendance. Wow! We loved the sea of neon green “Hoopin’ in Heaven” shirts in the crowd, and appreciated those who bought shirts and other apparel when they arrived. Plus, the first 800 people at the game received free neon green, glow-in-the-dark Tommy B. wristbands.

 

Thank you to the Sartell Basketball captain’s parents for selling 50/50 raffle tickets, and a HUGE thank you to the raffle winner - Dave Mahowald - who generously donated his winnings ($682) back to the Tom Bearson Foundation! And, thank you SO much to the Alexandria Aces (and Larry Novotny!) for performing at halftime again. The crowd went wild and absolutely loved the performance.

 

Thank you to every player, coach, and fan from both Sartell and Brainerd for showing such grace and class all night. The Sabres played an inspired Tommy B. style game, but unfortunately couldn’t pull off the upset against a very talented Brainerd team.

 

And, last but not least, thank you so much to Scott Edelbrock for donating his time and talent to take pictures at our event! We look forward to seeing them.
